SOUTH SEAS OR OTHER STORIES

Choreographer Marianna Kavallieratos presents her new work South seas or other stories, for four performances only, from 26th to 29th May at Synchrono Theatre.

Life in a time of uncertainty seems to impose a sense of perpetual motion and fluidity. One is expected to constantly re-examine, renegotiate, restate, readapt, regroup, reconsider. Simultaneously, one ought to make time to re-contemplate, recall, rediscover and reminisce. How can the multitude of conditions and actions initiated by the prefix “re-“ become the guides for choreography?

Five dancers seek out the intensities of this continuous [re]movement from considering to reconsidering, from creating to recreating, from disturbing to re-disturbing, from constructing to reconstructing, from covering to rediscovering. They recompose the work, so that it doesn’t repeat itself, while allowing the stories, which exist or are already taking place, to become immersive experiences and [re]appear.
