From war-torn Ukraine to Rotterdam and from there to the Piraeus Municipal Theater.
The Municipal Theater of Piraeus hosts on the Omega Stage the musical performance EROS by Elli Papakonstantinou for 4 unique performances. A show that premiered in Rotterdam on May 26, 2020, as part of the O. festival with great success.
Music, poetry and love in a cinematic environment where all the stage elements affirm “LOVE”.
For one more time, the director Elli Papakonstantinou draws from ancient Greek literature and specifically from Plato’s “Symposium”. The libretto is written by Louisa Arkoumanea and Elli Papakonstantinou.
During the performance spectators are invited to a real banquet, a dinner/art installation. In this journey, by candlelight and guided by poetry, the worlds of dinner and food, of death and war are connected through music and live cameras. Original music is composed by Serhii Vilka and Katerina Fotinaki. Performed on stage by Katerina Fotinaki and Nova Opera (cello, keyboard, drums and vocals).
Supported by NEON.
