POW, BLOP, WIZZ

For the 22nd edition of Hydra School Projects artist and curator Dimitrios Antonitsis presents a colorful mosaic of 11 Greek and international artists. Their common denominator is that they have more issues than answers; perhaps more thoughts than emotions.

The summer exhibition Pow, Blop, Wizz takes place at the Merchant Marine Academy of the Greek island of Hydra and the title is a reference to Comic Strip, the legendary song and video clip by Serge Gainsbourg featuring Brigitte Bardot as a super-heroine.

Participating artists: Mark Bradford ( USA), Mike Kelley (USA), Erwin Wurm (Austria), Danny Palillo (Finland), Thomas Diotis (Greece), Serge Gainsbourg ( France), Versaweiss ( Greece), Richard Woods (UK), Dimitris Papaionannou (Greece) and Euripides Laskaridis (Greece).

Established in 1999 by Dimitrios Antonitsis, the Hydra School Projects is a nonprofit foundation that organizes exhibitions and supports publications that explore the relationship between contemporary art and culture. A catalog of the exhibition will be published in the form of Greek school composition book.
