NEON, in collaboration with artist Michael Landy, invites you to participate in his first exhibition in Greece: BREAKING NEWS – ATHENS at the Diplarios School building in the city’s centre. BREAKING NEWS – ATHENS is an attempt to map people’s comments, reactions and experiences at a time when the city is undergoing dramatic social, economic, demographic and cultural changes.
A collaboration between Michael and the general public, the exhibition evolves over the course of four months – an installation in progress. NEON and Michael Landy invite members of the public to send in images that capture contemporary Athens and its social and political landscape – images reflecting the current state of our society such as news headlines, text messages, aphorisms, symbols, logos, slogans and graffiti.
The walls of the exhibition space on the third floor of the Diplarios School starts empty. Then, as the artist encodes and translates the selected images into his abstract visual language, they will gradually fill with blue and white drawings – a canvas of communal and collaborative experience, continuously evolving with Athens.

HARD COPIES SUBMISSION
Every Friday until 26th May 2017 , 12:00 – 7:00 pm, at the exhibition space at Diplarios School. Those aged under 18 may submit images providing they are accompanied by a guardian who must sign a consent form.
Those members of the public who submit images that are selected by Michael Landy may collect his related print work from the Diplarios School between 12:00 and 7:00pm on 14th – 16th June and 19th – 20th June 2017.
