NEON + EMST PARTNERSHIP

NEON has supported the National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) since 2012, and is committed to making further contributions to facilitate its operation and sustainability.

The program announced in 2015 – which included exhibitions and educational initiatives – was dependent upon the Museum being fully operational; NEON would re-assess how these can be implemented once EMST opens to the public.

Ahead of the Museum’s opening to the public NEON initiated the program NEON Fund for EMST which, from 2012 to 2017, provided an annual sum of 50,000€ for the Museum to acquire works of its own choosing for the enrichment of its permanent collection at the international Frieze Art Fair and Artissima.

New acquisitions include works by artists: Mateo Lopez, Pak Sheung Chuen, Andreas Angelidakis, Haris Epaminonda, Vlado Martek, Iran do Espirito Santo, Adam Broomberg & Oliver Chanarin, Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige, Francis Alÿs, CADU, Jeremy Deller, John Bock, Piotr Kowalski, Bertille Bak, Santiago Sierra, Olivia Mihălţianu.
