3 137 presents the exhibition la poste coinciding with the launch of the publication After the explosion you still hear the light drawing inspiration from the issues that the book highlights; the relationship of Greek artists who live (or have lived) in Athens, with the city of Paris from 1970 to this day, the concept of communication and exchange of ideas through the written word, but also the creation of an artistic language influenced by two different artistic scenes.

Through works that fit in mail envelopes and travel by post, works that lie in an intermediate space between art, poetry, and prose, works that capture orality through material means, works that transport entire places through travel memories, the exhibition unfolds like a diary of a route from one city to the other. On the one hand, the exhibition la poste deals with existing relationships, while on the other it raises questions about the ways in which history and the experience of an object is transferred from one place to another.

The publication After the explosion you still hear the light (Paraguay, Paris, 2023) is the fruit of a long-term research on artistic practices and artworks of 1970s Greece, and comprises the most extensive research project run by 3 137 to date. It aspires to highlight the eclectic affinities with contemporary artistic production in the country, as well as to document the intergenerational encounters and conversations between artists, historians, art critics and theoreticians, cultural producers, and other agents who have played a pivotal role in the local artistic creation over the last sixty years.

The exhibition la poste is supported by NEON as part of its annual Grants Scheme.
