Free guided tours for schools organized by NEON at the exhibition In the Realm of the Senses. Pupils of all ages are invited to discover the world and diverse output of artist Lynda Benglis.
In the artist’s first solo museum exhibition in Greece, a country that has played a major role in her life and vision, 36 sculptures display a wide spectrum of Benglis’s materials, imagery and ideas. The show also presents three key ancient artefacts generously lent by the Museum of Cycladic Art itself.
The tours take place during the museum opening hours and are suitable for pupils attending preschool, primary, secondary and high school. Admission is free.
Preschool & Primary School Program
Through a tour specially designed for children (4-12 years old) the pupils will discover the diverse media used by the pioneer of Post-Minimalism as well as the textures, color and forms of her sculptures. Afterwards they can create their own works inspired by Lynda Benglis’s sculptures.
Secondary, High School & IB Program
A guided tour designed for young people 12-18 years old who will have the opportunity to explore the highly original and prolific output of Lynda Benglis as a whole. A maverick artist who began her career as a female pioneer of Post-Minimalism in the late 1960s and still works with exuberance in the twenty-first century.
