NEON makes its second donation of a contemporary artwork to an archaeological site. A Transfer by Maria Loïzidou is now permanently installed at the restored archaeological site of Kerameikos.
The donation by NEON comes at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture and under the shared vision of enhancing public engagement with contemporary art in sites of global archaeological significance.
A Transfer was originally presented as part of the exhibition A Transfer, held at the Kerameikos archaeological site and Museum in September–October 2015. The exhibition was a new commission by NEON, presented as part of the NEON City Project, in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Athens.
In 2025, NEON donated Antony Gormley’s RULE II permanently installed in the exterior space of the Archaeological Museum of Delos. These donations follow NEON’s exhibitions at archaeological sites and are intended to remain as a reference point for the ongoing dialogue between classical and contemporary culture.
