FEATURED PUBLICATION

This book is published on the occasion of the exhibition Allspice | Michael Rakowitz & Ancient Cultures, held at the Acropolis Museum from May to October 2025. The exhibition is a collaboration between the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, the Acropolis Museum, the Ephorate of Antiquities of Athens, and NEON. It fosters a rich and meaningful dialogue between contemporary art and ancient artefacts, showcasing the multifaceted work of internationally renowned artist Michael Rakowitz in conversation with objects from the Middle East and the southeastern Mediterranean.

The publication includes installation views, alongside essays by the exhibition’s curators, Professor Nikolaos Chr. Stampolidis and Elina Kountouri. It also features a contribution by Dr. Kiersten Neumann on Assyrian cultural heritage, and a conversation between Michael Rakowitz and Elina Kountouri.

Beautifully designed and richly illustrated, this publication offers readers an immersive experience of the exhibition. It stands as both a thoughtful companion to the show and a lasting testament to the power of cultural dialogue across time.
